Sweet rhapsodies , Fading colors,
Emerald mountains, firmament azure
Nostalgia sweeps in, Over the heart,
As I fix the vision on the eastern sky,
Where clouds play the merry songs,
Sunlight filters on the moor.
Memories quicken, with a start,
Tear gleams in the light.
Ah! I am emotionally chocked,
Time’s calling back to you.
Dusty weather cratetered roads,
Endless faces look at you.
In the myriad I see one
Curly haired sunlight burned
Image of a pretty girl
Long ago in nineteen91’
Birthday parties colourful caps
childhood moments with a friend
striking chords of friendships made
bondings that were meant to stay
I was six she was seven
We roamed the alleys hand in hand
But time flew like the wind
I turned sixteen she seventeen
buildings, birds ,roads and sky
alleys, flowers, music that died
Sun that from behind the mountains rose everyday
Fostered in us the romantics we were made
Quarrels patch up’s that we did
Stealing pickles through the window sills
Similar crush on movie stars
Endless gossip on the terrace stairs
Splashing in the august rain
Singing tunes of ooh aah aay
She waited for me every day
Heavenwards the stars winking
As we drowned in the halo of the moon
Heaven sent us the boon
To treasure the unconditional Love of friendship
That gives the other half of your soul
Sweet nostalgia in sepia tones
Are the Happy reminders of days by gone..
childhood memories always remain fresh in mind. you smile and you cry at the same time remembering these moments
ReplyDeletewow!!!..wat a freshness comes out with first few lines just like a pearl came out from an oyster. When we turn out the pages of our memories it always starts with our childhood and left us with nostalgic feelings and also motivate us to enjoy every single moment of life.
ReplyDeleteOnly we both have seen this poetry!! Last night i was offering Namaz and Was calling Allah for some miracle..I am too blinded to overlook Ur one of the most precious miracle of my life..
